I Hired My Owned Replacement

The business world managed to create a stereotype without our awareness; we were taught that in order to do better, we must only upgrade in the organization’s hierarchy, competition should always be noble unless someone outstands your work, and replacements are the rivals.

Why? Why as humans are we obsessed with the idea of victory but don’t actually do what is needed for it?

To answer that question, I decided to follow my own textbook; reverse the normalized set of standards. That is why my first act upon it was hiring my own replacement.

Once I entered the world of start-ups, I set the goal of completing 4000 days; 4000 days of growth, prosperity, influence, and challenge. My role as a Chief of Staff was the needed experience for discovering the world of decision making, culture, leadership, and people. That gave me the chance to think; what path am I not exploring in myself? What can I do to benefit both myself and Nana?

I decided to challenge myself and start a new journey in my work path by diving into Nana’s Product world. I really wanted to be part of helping achieve our vision of becoming the region’s leading online grocery marketplace.

To discover a new path in my journey only meant allowing someone else to discover theirs!

Fortunately, I was lucky enough to run into a man of forward-thinking and an exceptional mindset.

With Aakash Keluskar, every attribute of friendship was surely awakened. All his actions proved that he is the spirit needed in our team. So, I knew he’s the right man for this upcoming stage. Watching the persistence in Aakash’s eyes during our talks didn’t only motivate me, but even made me feel selfish for not giving him the right platform to dazzle his way into success.

My feelings can be described as a rollercoaster! Meeting the people I have worked with, experiencing a different side of work, conquering several challenges is a true honor to me and I'm not in a place to list what we achieved or what we did to scale our Nana family. Not a single day will pass without me feeling thankful for it all as each and every family member in the people team will be missed big time. On the other hand, I am thrilled to continue this journey with a new challenge to attempt all discoveries that are meant to make me grow more as a human and as a young inspirational leader. To say that I am both excited and motivated is an understatement!

Yes, change is a challenge. And no, replacements aren’t the rivals. Unfortunately, we are frightened by the idea of hiring better, more qualified applicants. But to me, if anyone is afraid of hiring someone with considerable qualifications, they should probably re-evaluate if they are the right people to lead their company.

In the end, my mission is to pursue lifelong learning and inspire young minds to be compassionate and hard workers and I will not be satisfied with myself if I did not affect positively every single human on this earth starting with myself.
